Sub-Base– Installing a sub-base is a good way to add additional lettering and artwork to an existing monument. A sub-base is an additional block of granite mounted between the tablet and the base that you can fully customize. Adding a sub-base gives the monument a “stair-step” look and is permitted as long as the monument stays under the given height restrictions of your cemetery.
